Hotel de la Cloche

I spent just one short night here during a long motorcycle trip, arriving late and leaving early. The receptionist was friendly and managed to communicate with me even though I don't speak French. The hotel was cheap, clean and good value for money. The basic standard is why I'd give it three stars, but the value gets five. I'd stay again.

The hotel is in an excellent spot near the cathedral, square, restaurants and shops. We had enough hot water for a shower, and breakfast was okay for the few guests there that night, five I think. Still, our stay was disappointing for a Logis, though perhaps it was because we were there out of season. The room felt cold and shabby. The sheets were very thin and had holes in places, and the curtains wouldn't close properly because they were hanging off the rail. Luckily I'd brought safety pins and could fasten them. There was no hand soap in the bathroom, just sachets of shower gel.

The price was good, the receptionist very nice, and the hotel clean. It has an unusual oriental feel and a lovely little garden overlooking the Cathedral.
