Hôtel Grenoble Voreppe

We found the hotel comfortable, clean, and quiet both inside and outside, even though it was fully booked. The car park is closed at night, which also felt safe for the car. It’s close to the motorway, so it works well for an overnight stop. We didn’t meet any staff, as reception was unattended when we arrived and when we left, but we were satisfied with the service. After 9 p.m., you have to enter through the gate and walk to the main entrance, where a machine gives you the code for the car gate and your room.

The young gentleman at reception was polite, friendly, and professional, and spoke French and English. The room was clean and very quiet, and the comfortable bed meant we slept well. It’s not far from the motorway, so getting there and leaving were easy without having to go into Grenoble. It’s an Ibis Budget.

The room was basic, clean, and calm, as you’d expect from a budget hotel with limited space inside and out. Its location close to the motorway exit made leaving and getting back on the road easy after a long journey. It took me a few minutes to find it in the dark because it isn’t visible from the main road. I arrived after 22:00, and almost all the parking spaces were taken, which suggests it’s popular. Parking my estate car was tricky, especially with all the white vans, and the next person arriving had the same problem.

A quick break from travelling for the toilet, shower, and shave. The price was reasonable, and breakfast was included. I wasn’t expecting much for the money, and the front desk staff were welcoming. I did find a dead “cockroach”…
