Le Clos des Terres Soudées

The picnic in the vineyard was the best part of our stay. For 56 euros, there was plenty in the basket for two, with superb cheeses, meats and pâté, lots of bread, and regional rose biscuits to finish. They gave us a little trolley to take it up among the vines. By the time we got there the table was out of the sun, so we spread the trolley cover on the ground and enjoyed the sunshine. Such a lovely afternoon. Breakfast was generous too, with Nespresso coffee, breads, pastries, cold meats and cheese. We stayed one night. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet, but the house didn’t feel properly clean for a boutique B&B. The glass wall made with Champagne corks beside the partly open-plan bathroom is a fun idea, though it looked dusty and dirty. The quiet garden had no view and felt like a plain back yard, with little presentation and not much comfortable furniture. The staff we met were friendly and around for breakfast and checkout. Nobody was there when we arrived, but after I called, they gave me a code to get in. Would I return? For the picnic, yes, and if the room rate were on promotion.
