Hotel de la Plage

This hotel has a lovely, very French rustic feel, and I like everything about it. The rooms are simple, with basic furniture, no TV, and no carpets. They are clean and tidy.

The village, building, views, food, and service were all lovely, and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. The meals were good, though expensive, and the stay felt costly for what we got. Our room was tiny, with only about 50 cm of space around the bed, and it had no TV, phone, or coffee facilities.

A shabby chic, very French historic hotel, close to Wissant's magnificent beach. We loved our four nights in this part of the Cote d'Opale, between Calais and Boulogne. The area has plenty of interesting places to explore, and the local roads were very quiet. We went to Le Touquet, Boulogne, and the coast, and stopped at the military cemetery at Etaple. The hotel is also a useful stop for travelers arriving in or leaving France via Calais.

A real old-school French place with a wonderfully French atmosphere, so four stars for that alone. The classic marine cuisine is honest rural food, nothing fancy, and that's fine. Service was very friendly. A one-of-a-kind restaurant, and this rating is for the restaurant only. They deserve a medal for being so old school. 😋
