Aux vignes

We spent Easter here, and the homemade breakfast is an absolute must, it was delicious. The owners share the place with a very sweet goose and a lovely little dog. It’s a bit outside town, which adds to the charm.

We got caught in a thunderstorm while cycling and were taken in spontaneously late in the evening. They were a real lifesaver! The room was lovely, and breakfast the next morning was fantastic, with different cold cuts and all the coffee we wanted. I highly recommend it.

We stayed one night at Aux Vignes in the summer of 2019. The host was very service-oriented, the accommodation was well furnished and well located, and breakfast was excellent. Aux Vignes is surrounded by vineyards, about a five-minute drive from Wissembourg/Hasselbach. It’s a great setting if you like quiet and fresh air. There’s parking right in front of the house. One small tip if you’re coming from the German side with Google Maps: it sent us through the vineyards, which wasn’t ideal. Aux Vignes has two apartments. We had a very comfortable bed, a lovely living room and bathroom, and a big spa bathtub. Breakfast was nearly unbeatable: fresh baguette, a range of high-quality cheeses from all over France, good strong coffee, homemade honey, homemade yogurt, jam and butter. It was already pleasantly warm in the morning, so we ate on the terrace. The host was very accommodating, and we even bought a jar of delicious honey from his beekeeping operation. Before we left, he also shared his ice cream recipe: blend a frozen pear with an egg white and enjoy. We wholeheartedly recommend Aux Vignes and definitely want to return, for a longer stay too.

The hosts were friendly, the rooms well equipped, and breakfast delicious. It’s in a quiet spot just outside the city, around five minutes by car or 25 minutes on foot from the center of Wissembourg.
