U Paesolu Hôtel & Résidence

The friendly reception, great pool, and very close beach were all positives, and there’s a great restaurant over there. Still, we slept badly here, which hadn’t happened in the other 2-3 star hotels on our 8-day trip around Corsica. I’m not going to complain about the state of the rooms, since this isn’t a 4-star place. That’s why I’d give it 2 stars rather than 3. I know the owners are renovating, so I hope they remember the chambers in the reception area.

I’m glad we didn’t book ahead. The photos are misleading. Maybe the pool deserves 4 stars, but the rest doesn’t. The villas look old and dirty, and getting to the beach means a very long walk. I also don’t think “sea view” fits when you have to stand up and look a certain way to spot the sea far off between houses. We looked elsewhere and found The Bungalows Figha.

Very, very poor service. We paid for a two-week stay, but our ferry was cancelled and we had to leave a day early. At reception, we asked whether one night could be refunded. The staff member checked with management and told us the next day that it had been approved, and that we just needed to email the cancellation and bank details. We sent them right away, but nothing happened. Two weeks later, we asked again and were told the manager was away for another three days and had to sign. We waited another two weeks and asked again. The manager was still “on vacation.” After we followed up two months later, they simply stopped responding. Eleven months have now passed and we’ve never received a refund. Why approve it in the first place? Treating guests who stayed for weeks this way is just poor. They seem to “solve” problems by ignoring guests, and there’s no integrity here. We won’t be coming back. Edit: Please don’t reply with “contact us to solve this matter.” After this review and your response, I tried again and still got no reply. You said my review was based “only” on this issue, so I’m adding pictures of the breakfast served each morning. No, this wasn’t the end of breakfast time. It looked like this every morning, despite the horrendous price per person. Save the reply and learn to show integrity toward paying guests.

We loved our stay and already miss U Paesolu. The place is right by the sea, with a warm welcome and well-equipped accommodation and facilities. Snacks and lunch by the pool were great too. Hope we can come back and stay longer next year!
