The room and en-suite were spotless and comfortable, with spectacular views towards St Catherine's Chapel. Abbotsbury makes a great base for this stretch of coast, and The Tropical Gardens and The Swannery are both an easy walk away. We spent two delightful nights in the charming cottage. Angela welcomed us warmly with a wonderful homemade cream tea, and the breakfasts were superb. Highly recommend.

We booked all three rooms at Quintessential B&B so the bride’s family could stay together while we were in Dorset for my sister’s wedding. The cottage is lovely, thoughtfully decorated, and has views of Abbotsbury and the surrounding countryside. The beds were especially comfortable. It’s also ideally placed, just a short drive from the beautiful Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens. Angela was friendly and attentive while still giving us space and privacy. Her breakfasts were amazing, with full English or salmon and scrambled eggs, plus fruit, yoghurt, cereal and toast. We were greeted with delicious tea and cake at check-in too. I’d absolutely recommend it and would stay again if we’re in the area.

Angela made us a delicious vegan breakfast and even got vegan milk and cookies for us. She also welcomed us with tea and cake. The cottage feels like a real, authentic English cottage, the village is charming, and Angela is a perfect host. We loved this B&B and would definitely recommend it.

We loved the walks starting right on the doorstep, and our room had a lovely view and a super-comfy bed. Angela was warm, friendly and helpful, and made us a delicious breakfast both mornings. We’ve just spent a couple of nights at this gorgeous B&B.

A lamb tagine was waiting for us when we arrived, and in the evenings we could settle in the front room by the log fire and play games. Angela made us feel welcome throughout our long weekend and was generous with tips for planning our days. We had two rooms, both cosy and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious with something different each day. The country cottage has lots of charm, with thoughtful, stylish decor, and there’s ample free off-street parking. The village is close to the Jurassic coast and works well as a base for the usual attractions, including Athelhampton House and Hardy’s birthplace. A lucky find, with a very welcoming host.
