We left before the rest of our group after waiting a long time for dinner. Our table was booked for 7pm, but with just one staff member covering reception, the bar and the restaurant, we didn’t order until about 7.20pm. Nothing had arrived by 8.45pm, and I had to cancel my meal because of digestive issues. The service was very, very poor. If you’re running a hotel, you know how many guests and meal bookings to expect, so there should be enough staff to look after them. I won’t be going back to Beinn Inn. After I complained, the charge for my drink and my friend’s meal was waived. But later we found out the rest of our group had been charged for that meal and drink. The receipt showed it. That’s an absolutely shocking way to run a business.

The roast was to die for, and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. They’re dog friendly too. We’ve stayed at this inn a good few times, and the room we had felt more like a suite, with a sofa and a massive bed. The bathroom was huge, with his-and-hers sinks, a big freestanding roll-top bath, and a separate shower.

We’ve tried Sunday roast beef lunch at The Bein Inn a couple of times and still wonder why it isn’t packed with diners. After looking into Sunday lunches at restaurants in several parts of Perth, this one came out by far the best, and among the cheapest. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

The guy at reception was really nice and helpful. I was there for an overnight work stop, arrived at 8.30pm after eating on the way, and left before breakfast, so I can’t comment on the food. My twin room was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was my one letdown: the stained tub didn’t look inviting, though the shower made up for it.

The area was noisy at night and early in the morning, with roadworks bringing more traffic and trucks. Still, it was a lovely, welcoming stay for us and great value for money. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the communal bathrooms were clean too. There’s also a charming lounge with lovely decor. Breakfast was nice, warm and well served, and the front desk staff were very helpful and had a lovely attitude. They suggested the nearby castle as a notable place to visit.
