Mount Pleasant

The highchair wasn’t properly cleaned when I asked. It was sprayed and barely wiped, so I had to dry it myself because I didn’t want food put on a surface with cleaning product still on it. For my first Sunday lunch, the food was basic and bland, with no flavour, and I could hardly eat any of it. I asked for a glass of red wine, but it was only available by the bottle or in a small bottle, and there was just one wine to choose from. I stuck with water and left hungry. A disappointing experience.

A quiet little pub opposite Aberdare park and up the road from the Coliseum, with friendly staff who couldn’t do more for us during our quick stop. The decor is a bit dated, but if you want a quiet drink, it’s ideal. It’s in the small village of Trecynon.

A good spot for friends to get together for a drink. The staff were friendly and the service was good, and the regulars made us feel at home. The landlord put out a buffet and was a great bloke all round. I’d recommend meeting up here.

The room was clean and tidy, with fresh towels on the beds, a good shower, a comfortable bed, and nice pillows. The bar had a friendly atmosphere too. I’d give it 7/10, mainly because I missed the food. Everyone was talking about how good it was, and I wish I’d arrived in time to try it. I’ll come back soon and book in for food as well. I first went there 14 years ago, and it’s come a long way since then. Thanks 🙏 you.
