Atholl Hotel

The snowy spell in Aberdeen was especially hard to deal with after our home flooded, so I was really thankful to have somewhere to stay. The room was lovely and warm, the food stayed consistently good, and the service was excellent. Thanks to Wendy, Lee and all the staff. 5/5

We found the area quiet and safe, and the price for one night was very good for what we got. The hotel itself looks like a little castle, with welcoming staff and a large, well-equipped room. There were two heaters, though they couldn't warm the whole space properly. It wasn't terribly cold, though. Breakfast was fine, but every menu choice was based on a traditional English breakfast. There were options, though it wasn't a buffet, and I would've liked some vegetables given that visitors come from other countries too.

Lee, the general manager, couldn't have been more helpful and has a lovely manner. We had a great lunch, with excellent service, in such a warm and friendly hotel. The staff are a real credit to the place.

The staff were very pleasant, and the food was okay, though expensive. The room felt dated, with furniture that looked a bit 1970s, and the TV was tiny. The bed was all right, and the bathroom was clean, but very old-fashioned, with a shower curtain over the bath. It was raining, and a leaking gutter kept dripping noisily. I wouldn't rate this as a four-star hotel.
