Charles Hope Apartments - Aberdeen

Be careful, this felt like a scam. I booked at Charles Hope Hotel in Aberdeen, got confirmation and all the details, then arrived to find the hotel no longer existed at that address. It was late in the evening, and we were worried we wouldn't find anywhere else. When we tried contacting the hotel, they said they didn't know what was going on. Booking.com said they couldn't help because it was a partner deal, but wouldn't tell me who the partner was when I asked. It felt like they took our money and then wouldn't help.

A complete joke. I turned up and they had no record of my details. Charles Hope didn't answer the first time I called, then sent me an expired link that wouldn't work. Check-in was made far more complicated than it needed to be, and customer service was no help at all, just sending me back to Booking.com.

Great location, but the studio was seriously cramped. If you want to know what living in a shoe box feels like, you'd like it here.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was tidy with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. It's on a street corner with plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. The neighborhood was good, but I wish the views had been better. The pictures on Booking.com showing the lounges, lobbies and laundries are for services that cost extra if you want to use them. We were also missing tissues, and the key sometimes stopped working. Aside from those issues, it was definitely worth the stay.
