Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport

The restaurant and bar beside reception were the weakest part for me. The atmosphere was lacking and it wasn't very cosy, the menu was a bit limited for the high prices, the food was average at best, and bar service could be slow. There is a small shop for essentials, though, which is handy, and the prices aren't too unreasonable for the convenience. I have stayed here a couple of times and will come back. The modern rooms are comfortable, the facilities make for a good night's sleep, and check-in is always quick and friendly. The lifts serve all five floors quickly, and there's very little outside noise whichever side your room faces. Some rooms have a slight view of the airport, but other buildings block what might otherwise be a great view. The large bed has sockets, lighting controls and a reading light on both sides, and the TV opposite is a good size. There's a roomy desk with an office-style chair, plenty of wardrobe space, and an iron and board. The window opens a little, though the air conditioning works well without being too noisy. The bathroom is as modern as the bedroom and was spotless, with a spacious walk-in shower, soft towels in good supply, and good-quality toiletries in large bottles. There are a couple of lighting options. My only room annoyance is the frosted-glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom. It looks contemporary, but at night it lights up the whole room if someone needs the bathroom, so it seems better suited to solo guests. It's a very comfortable, clean and contemporary hotel, and I'd recommend it for that kind of stay.
