The location is central, with pubs, shops, takeaways, and restaurants just seconds away, and I’d say it’s a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station. It’s a nice flat with a modern kitchen and all the utensils you need. I had a lovely stay, though a few things could be improved for comfort. The shower pressure wasn’t great, though that could be a plumbing issue in the area. The sofa was quite small, and the bed didn’t feel very secure, like it might split down the middle. Light came through the bedroom window by 5am, making it hard to sleep, so blackout blinds or a curtain would help. There was only one mirror in the bathroom; a second one, or a full-length mirror behind one of the doors, would be useful.

Once I got up the four flights of stairs, with a few rests and no lift, I found a spotless little flat all to myself. It felt basic but fresh, almost brand new, and the living room was pristine. The bed was a comfortable double, though getting into it was awkward because it was tucked under an alcove beneath the sloping ceiling. The bathroom was fine, with a nice shower, but the toilet was very low. I can’t use showers because I can’t stand or bend to wash. The kitchen was nice and had everything needed, except washing-up liquid, hand soap, and a hand towel. I wouldn’t have thought to bring those things, or shower gel, with me. You expect them nowadays. Before going upstairs, I nearly turned back when I saw the filthy, badly worn, tarnished hallway, and I thought about heading to my usual place, The Station Hotel. Room J was right at the top, but I decided to continue. There were a few corners cut: the TV was small, though a much bigger one would only have cost a few pounds more. The wonky round table was annoying, and the marked sofa sat so low that I had to use one of the dining chairs. Still, I enjoyed the flat and might book with them again.

We had a brilliant wee home away from home for a girly weekend, and we’ll 100% be back. The place was immaculately clean and within budget. We didn’t mind the birds, but it’s useful to know that seagulls and wee sparrows can be noisy, especially if you’re a light sleeper. The flat was very warm, even with the windows open, though there was a lovely breeze. We came during what seemed to be the hottest days of the year so far, so a fan or two in the cupboard would be a useful addition for hot weather or anyone who likes things cooler. It’s right in the heart of Aberdeen, close to plenty of places to eat, Union Street, and a short walk from the train station. Check-in and check-out were easy with the lock-box code, no faff at all, and our messages got quick replies. The flat had one bedroom with a small double bed, a decent-sized kitchen, and a living room with a sofa bed, table, and chairs. The bed was lumpy and a bit small for two, and the sofa bed was hard as a rock. We both slept well, but keep that in mind if you can’t sleep on mattresses that are too soft or too hard. The bathroom has a shower stall, no tub. It’s on the top floor, up 4 flights of stairs, so bear that in mind if stairs are difficult for you. There were loads of useful things provided: toilet roll, hand soap, washing-up liquid, sponges, laundry pods, pots and pans, cutlery, towels, and a hair dryer. They’d also left tea, coffee, sugar, salt, Fry Light, fresh milk, and cereal. You’ll need to bring your own shampoo and body wash. The under-counter fridge has a small freezer space for some ice. There’s Wi-Fi and a TV with Freeview; it’s a smart TV, so you can log in to your own Now TV, Netflix, or Prime Video account.

It was easy to find from the train station, and the place was clean and comfortable. They’d left us some breakfast items, as well as tea, coffee, and fresh milk. I’d absolutely stay again. Many thanks!
