After a seven-hour drive, I was shattered and didn't appreciate being treated like a burden. The reception team were both brilliant, thankfully, but the staff serving in the lounge and restaurant were miserable and rude. One woman spoke with a harsh tone and had a thunderous expression. The bar and restaurant service was really poor. The club lounge was disappointing too. There were very few soft or alcoholic drinks, and the food choices were batter squid and vegetarian quiche. I can't see why those were the only options. It was late, and after such a long drive I couldn't face checking out and finding somewhere else. I regret staying here, felt very uncomfortable, and won't be back.

The one letdown was breakfast. The fried eggs tasted as if they'd been sitting on the hotplate for ages, and the hash browns were barely cooked. Aside from that, Crowne Plaza was amazing. We came to use it as a base for exploring the Granite City, but enjoyed it so much that we never left. The Members Lounge, restaurant and bar were all great, and both the service and food were amazing. I slept well in a gorgeous room.

Lovely staff and a really nice room in a decent hotel. I'd give the location four stars: it's a bit out of the way unless you're heading to the nearby industrial estates for work or using the airport.

The reception welcome was friendly and professional, and the hotel had a pleasant feel. My room was reasonably clean. The restaurant food was decent, with a good choice of drinks. A good option for an airport stay.
