The Mark's was beautifully clean, elegant and felt safe to me. I’m immunosuppressed and need a very clean place, and this one met that need. My husband and I stayed five days, got there easily along the Dee River, and had our own parking spot. After six months of travel, we were especially glad to have the washer/drier combo. Richard has the B&B set up with a lot of technology. A vacuum quietly starts in the morning, Alexa controls the lights, dimmers and mood lighting, and I recall the blackout bedroom curtains were electronic too. Alexa can play whatever music you want, and the TV had plenty to offer, though we never turned it on. When you need light at night, Alexa can help. There’s a full kitchen, but we drove to Thyme Out nearby for breakfast. In the evenings we had picnics at the Mark's, with everything we needed for dining and a nice atmosphere. The one thing I’d add is hair conditioner. I’d run out, and the high kalk water content made my hair hard to untangle. The shower temperature can be adjusted, but you need to know how; I’d suggest setting the electronic thermostat higher so guests can turn it down themselves. I’m alert to safety after a step in a B&B abroad once sent me to the ER early in the morning, and I didn’t see any safety issues here. Thanks, Richard, for such a lovely place. I’ll buy you a ticket to the states so you can wire up and decorate my place! “Never too much, never too much, never too much!” Cheers.

This was the best place we stayed on our Scotland holiday. It felt like home and had pretty much everything, apart from my slippers. The bed was superb, and the furnishings and electronics were high end. There was Alexis, Sat TV, a cappuccino machine, and a full kitchen with a washer dryer and dishwasher. They’d even supplied soaps, shampoo and the rest, plus breakfast cereal, bread and snacks.

We arrived to find our requested champagne on ice and our favourite music playing, a lovely touch for our anniversary. We had our dog with us, and walks are easy: the riverside path is straight across the road, and Duthie Park is less than a 10-minute walk away. Richard was a fantastic, friendly host, helpful before and during the visit. The apartments are packed with smart tech, especially the Alexa controlled mood lighting and music in every room. The bed was the comfiest I’ve slept in away from home, and the apartment had plenty of crockery and utensils for meals. I also loved seeing Spencer come to clean the floors every morning at 11am. We’d booked two nights, then added another because we didn’t want to leave. We came away relaxed and refreshed, and can’t wait to return to Marks @ The Manor. We’re already booking our next stay.

Richard was brilliant, answering my silly questions quickly and sending helpful information well ahead of our trip. We had a lovely stay in Platinum, a gorgeous apartment with everything we needed for our Aberdeen visit. The coffee cupboard was a great bonus. It’s close to Duthie park and well placed for a lovely walk by the river. A true five out of five for us. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer. We’ll stay again, highly recommended.

We’ve stayed at Marks at the Manor twice now, and both visits have been exceptional. The host is easy to reach, checks that everything is all right, and is happy to offer recommendations. The location makes riverside walks easy and gives you straightforward access to the city centre. Inside, the apartment has a luxurious feel and everything you need for a really comfortable stay, plus more. We’re looking forward to coming back on our next Aberdeen visit.
