Premier Inn Aberdeen Airport - Dyce

We were there over Christmas to visit family, and we often stay at Premier Inns. The friendly staff were lovely, and the location was very handy for the airport. The hotel was clean, but it felt worn and had a slightly musty smell. Our room was cold at first because the heating was off, and it took about an hour to warm up. There were no glasses in the bathroom. Christmas made it an unusual stay, I think there were eight guests and just one staff member working in the evening. I’m not counting the low staffing against them, since the low occupancy made the stay very cheap. The faded decor is why I’ve taken off a star. It was okay to good, and we’ll stay again.

After a seven-and-a-half-hour drive from York, it was a relief to arrive at 11 in the morning, check in, unpack and get some sleep in that comfortable bed. The hotel was just as it looks in the advert, as you’d expect from a Premier Inn. My only complaint is the £11 nightly parking charge. I’ve never come across that at a hotel, and all our Premier Inn stays in York have had free parking.

I rarely write reviews like this, but I regret booking Premier Inn Aberdeen Airport and won’t return. The room was old and musty enough that I had to buy air freshener to get through the night. It didn’t feel clean, and the bathroom had what looked like painted concrete instead of proper tiles. The place needs a full renovation. The restaurant felt neglected too, with sticky tables that clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but that couldn’t make up for the hotel’s condition. If you’re eating, I’d walk to the hotel next door. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and paying a little more would spare you the discomfort.

The beds were comfy, the staff were really nice, and there was a coffee station. But it was quite dirty, so I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone who doesn’t like an unclean hotel.
