The house is set back enough from the shops and restaurants for a peaceful night's rest, while still being within easy reach of them. Its rooms look out over the estuary, and there's a separate living room to relax in. The rooms are tidy and clean, and the attentive owners give you space. This is a family run guest house, and prices are surprisingly reasonable for such an idyllic spot. A parking pass is provided, though sometimes you can park right outside. Breakfast is hearty if you want it, very well cooked and nicely presented. You choose your Welsh breakfast and a seating time the night before. The food uses local ingredients, with locally made lava bread sausages that even appeared on a Hairy Bikers documentary. The plates and cutlery are delightful.

We only found this place through a last minute booking, and were so glad we did. It felt warm and homely as soon as we walked in, and it was spotless. Our room had plenty of space and storage, a very comfy bed and a good sized en-suite. There were fluffy towels, complimentary shower gel, handwash and shower caps. The tea tray was overflowing with drinks and biscuits, plus bottled water. Megan and her husband were lovely, and Megan made sure we had everything we needed. The Vanner has a sea view lounge with comfy chairs and a big flat screen TV, a great spot to take in the views of the sea and harbour, especially with a few people staying. Breakfast was five star, served on fine white china. There was fruit, yoghurt, cereals and a choice of hot breakfasts, all excellent. Homemade bread and preserves, lovely salted butter on hot toast, and a huge pot of strong tea or fresh coffee. Great value, and somewhere I'd happily stay again, for longer next time.

We only had one night because we needed to get back, but wished we could have stayed longer. The room was a little small, though very comfortable, and the friendly, helpful couple made us feel welcome. The location and views are spot on. Thanks for a lovely short break, it certainly put a smile on our faces. Garry and Adele.

After a day cycling to Aberdovey, the room was a very pleasant, comfortable place to come back to. They were very accommodating, and the front rooms have sea views. I'd highly recommend it.
