The lobby side looked a bit dated, so we hesitated before sitting down for lunch. Glad we did, the staff were lovely and so was the food. The half portions are already a full meal if you don't eat much. I'd recommend the beef pie, the medium steak with peppercorn sauce, which was cooked perfectly, and the sticky toffee pudding. Go in, you won't regret it.

The street was a bit noisy and the bed was small, but otherwise it was a really good restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were super friendly.

Everyone who competed on Four in a Bed came across as gracious, the most gracious group of people I've seen on the series. Kelly and Alice were lovely people.

The staff were really friendly and the service was great, and breakfast was a filling, pleasant surprise. The hotel is also well placed for getting to distilleries around the area. But the room was cramped, the walls were thin, and we could hear everything happening around us. It felt like there was no privacy. Trucks on the roadside could keep you awake into the late evening too. If we returned to the area, I'd probably stay somewhere else, mainly because of the noise.

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. There was a great range on the menu, and the man from Middlesbrough working reception and service is a real asset.
