The location on the seafront gets five stars. I didn't choose the hotel myself, as it was booked for me. It's a Premier Inn, so you more or less know what to expect, and the room was the usual homogeneous Premier Inn style. This one looked ready for decoration and just didn't sparkle. The bed seemed ready for a change too, though I did sleep well. Service gets three stars because there were no spare towels. I was staying for work and showering twice a day, so I had to dry myself with a damp towel. You also have to ask to have your room serviced. Having to ask for everything at a service business gets tiring; service provided before you request it is what makes things great. I'd have given service two stars if not for breakfast, where the staff were welcoming and the chef was ready and able to make poached eggs to order.

This was our second stay, and they've definitely upped their game. The food was awful last time, but we gave it another try because we didn't want to go out. This time all the meals were lovely, fresh and well cooked. Breakfast was great, and nothing was too much trouble. They even made some items fresh for me at the end of breakfast time. We also got a welcome note and packet of biscuits in the room on arrival for the first time, a lovely touch. Thank you 😊

We had a really good short break here. The rooms were tidy and clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast is £10 for as much as you like, and you can also get an evening meal if you need one. The hotel is right by the sea, with a lovely walk along the Promanade; town is about 5 minutes away on foot and the train station about 10. There’s an outdoor sauna on the Prom for ££, popular with people who follow it with a swim, though it isn’t part of the hotel. Ask for a Sea View Room when booking. Just be aware there’s no 2 Pin socket in the bathroom.

We had a family room and the team were really accommodating. They even left a whole pack of biscuits for the children. It was lovely and clean, with a good range at breakfast and very friendly management and staff. The room door locks felt secure, so the kids couldn’t get too far 😂

The rooms were good and the staff friendly, but I thought the parking charge was a rip off. It was £8.0 per day, which came as a surprise and should have been included in the price. I’ve stayed in plenty of other hotels and travel lodges and never paid separately for parking before. This was my first time paying for it at a premier inn.
