Glendavan House

My wife and I arrived three hours late on a recovery vehicle after blowing two tyres in the remote Highlands. Rebeca and Moira greeted us with such warmth and understanding, then gave us a nourishing meal, a glass of wine and a wee drap. After a delicious breakfast in the elegant dining room, Rebeca even stepped in as an emergency volunteer tour guide. Their kindness rescued our Highland holiday from disaster, and we’ll always be grateful. The amenities were excellent too. In all my many trips around Britain staying in B&Bs, I’ve never had better hospitality, especially at a time when we needed it most. Glendavon House is a wonderful place, run by wonderful people. I’d give it another star or two if the rating system allowed.

We spent two excellent nights in the Highlands, though it was hard to carry on with our month-long Scotland tour after being spoiled at Glendavan House. The well-kept Victorian house is near Aberneen, and we stayed Aug 20-21. Our room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, private sitting room and access to a butler's pantry stocked with snacks and cakes. Rebecca and her mom Moira were excellent hosts, offering a varied full breakfast and laundry service. Set among wooded Highlands, the house has wildlife all around and fantastic views in every direction. We even saw a Bagpiper in the heather outside. We’d love to return someday.

The room was fantastic, and the whole place felt more like a stately home than an ordinary house. It’s beautiful and so peaceful, and Becky was a joy to meet. She couldn’t do enough for us. Brilliant stay.

The food and accommodation were both top notch. It was absolutely lovely, so don’t miss the chance to stay here.
