The rooms are compact but immaculate, and even have a fridge. The host was fabulous and couldn’t do enough for us. What a lovely place to stay. Thank you for being such a wonderful host, I’d definitely come back.

The Hippy Shack Cabin turned a stressful evening into a lovely memory. We’d been unexpectedly stranded in Aultbea on a stormy, windy night with nowhere to stay, and by sheer luck we called Cartmel and found it was available. What a blessing. The cabin was cosy, warm and full of character, with everything we needed to feel safe and comfortable. There was plenty of extra bedding, which we really appreciated, and it felt like a peaceful haven despite the weather. We had our dog with us, and the enclosed area meant she could go outside for comfort breaks and feel safe too. Samantha and her partner were incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and went out of their way to help us settle in. If you’re after a unique and heartwarming place to stay in the area, I can’t recommend the Hippy Shack Cabin enough. Thank you, Samantha.

The rooms were immaculately clean and cozy, with a nostalgic charm that brought back childhood memories. The host was friendly and responsive from the moment I arrived, and the place felt like a comforting home away from home. It’s also a convenient base for anyone travelling the NC500 and exploring the area. A really relaxing, memorable stay, and I’d highly recommend this B&B.

Sammy and David gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived, a little tired after motorcycling from the north of Skye through Applecross. The beds were cosy and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the pub/hotel was only a short walk away for a first-rate dinner. It’s definitely somewhere I’d visit again, on my motorbike or otherwise. David is the person to talk to if you’re into model railways. He has a fantastic collection and knows a huge amount about the model trains, trams and buses that those of us of a certain age grew up with. Thanks again for everything, Sammy and David. Loved it.
