There are interesting artifacts around the hotel, so walking through it feels a little like visiting a museum. The menu isn’t large, but that suited me. My soup and duck main were beautifully cooked and presented, and the room was perfect, especially the nicely appointed bathroom. A very pleasant, unplanned short stay.

Craig was incredibly kind and hospitable, and everything we ate was delicious. I stopped at this lovely little gem for a bite and a pint on my way to see the enchanting Scottish Highlands. The place felt warm and inviting, with a serene, positive energy that I could really feel. I felt at peace and inspired right away. A few hours later, I realised I’d lost a very sentimental ring. I called Craig, and someone had found it and returned it to him. He wrapped it carefully and sent it back to my address in the USA. He went above and beyond to help me. That experience really shows what kind of place Ledgowan is.

We only meant to stop for coffee, but stayed on for lunch. It was cosy and warm inside despite the wild weather, and the staff were welcoming and quick.

We hired two electric motorhome pitches from the hotel. There’s also a bunkhouse with cooking facilities and showers, which makes for a handy setup for one night or longer. It’s great for the NC500. We can’t comment on the rooms or service.

Used the bunkhouse while touring the NC500 by motorbike. It’s warm and basic, so bring a sleeping bag as there’s no bedding. There’s a kitchen and somewhere to eat, plus tea-making supplies, but no shops nearby, so arrive with your food. The hotel next door has a bar and dining, though it’s pricey. Midge bite cafe is just down the road, but stops serving food after 2pm.
