Poolewe Hotel

We slept undisturbed, and the food was perfectly acceptable. The staff greeted us on arrival and stayed friendly, helpful and easy to approach throughout the stay. Special mention to Nick, who was very affable and seemed happy to help with anything.

The cooked breakfast was honestly excellent, perfectly done, and the bed was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The location is nice, with good views, and very close to Inverewe gardens and Firemore beach. The room itself was not clean, especially the bathroom and shower. There was mould, peeling silicone, a hair-filled blocked drain and dirty soap left by previous guests. The room mugs were dirty too. A window was broken open despite a “do not open” sign, and things were scuffed, chipped, rusty or broken throughout. The stair lights outside the room didn’t work, and the outer stair door had a broken handle. After our stay, some locals told us the hotel has a bad reputation. I wouldn’t stay again.

A handy spot for basic but good food. We were warmly welcomed, and the food was simple, hot, fresh and tasty. Our lovely server had a bit of banter with all of us, which was nice.

We booked a small double for one night, at the back of the hotel in bedroom blavk. It was small, as the information said, but very comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Clean, with a great shower room and a lovely big window. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant are basic but functional and clean, and they serve food from a nice little menu. We enjoyed the food and service. It’s a 3 star hotel and exactly that, which was fine by us. We’d definitely stay again.
