The room was clean and tidy, and the location was great, just a short walk from Victoria bus and underground station. On arrival, though, we found two single beds instead of the promised queen-size bed. The fire alarm went off overnight, and people didn't seem to know what to do. It took well over ten minutes for a staff member to arrive and turn it off. They said staff monitor the alarms and that guests smoking in their rooms was apparently a regular cause. My first impressions had been good. I'd checked the room details beforehand, and we received the check-in information on the day we arrived. Getting inside was straightforward. Apart from the alarm incident and the bed mix-up, it's a decent hotel for the price.

The room was clean but quite hot, probably because it was on the top floor. OYO studios @ 28 is very close to Victoria tube and coach stations, which makes the location worthwhile. The bathroom is tiny. I'm short, so it was fine for me, but I can imagine it being a little uncomfortable for a tall man. I don't love self check-in, though you can message the host on WhatsApp once the room is ready. All in all, it was good.

My room was at the very top, up several half-flights of narrow stairs, and there's no lift. I'm not over 6 feet (1.83 mtrs.), but my head touched the headboard and my feet reached the end wall when I lay down, so I couldn't stretch out fully. That room wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues or anyone taller than me. The radiator stayed cold, though the building seemed to use some other kind of heating. There was only a duvet for extra bedding. The compact en suite had constant hot water. I'd guess the rooms for two or more people are more spacious. The property is unmanned, but the staff were very helpful over WhatsApp. My single room came without breakfast, but had tea and coffee supplies, replenished daily if needed. There's a good choice of food at Victoria Rail Station and in nearby pubs. The location is terrific, an easy walk from Victoria Rail and Coach Stations, and the quiet surroundings were a definite bonus.

We stayed for two nights in the apartment, which had a microwave and kettle. The owners communicated well, and the cleaners did a good job. It's about a ten-minute walk to Victoria station. Building work across the road started early, though that was expected to continue until late 2023. The furniture was a bit dated, and the TV really needed a swivel stand because we couldn't watch it properly where it was placed. It was fine otherwise, though a bit expensive for what we got. I'd recommend it.

The room was comfortable and the location really convenient, but check-in and customer service were a nightmare. I'd booked through Booking.com, and at the door I found a digital lock that required scanning a QR code and downloading an app. The app wouldn't let me create an account, so I couldn't use it. I called the number on the door and was told I had to send a passport or driver's license as ID, or they wouldn't honor my booking. The man said he'd texted instructions, but he'd sent them to the wrong number. I eventually found the link in one of the many Booking.com messages. After I sent my ID, I was told the room wasn't ready or cleaned. I waited outside for about 15-20 minutes while a teenage boy started doing housekeeping at 5pm on a Sunday. Eventually the man returned and gave me a key card for a different, larger room. The heating didn't work, there were no outlets beside the bed, and the toilet was so close to the door I had to rest my head on it to close it. I definitely wouldn't book with them again.
