This place brings back a lot of happy childhood memories. I stayed here a few times when I was young, in this beautiful part of the world. Hamish was the owner then, always wearing a kilt. What a great guy. Ah, those were the days.

We really liked the hosts and the two guest lounges. We spent the evening upstairs by the log fire, which was lovely. Our room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and a modern wet room. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was freshly cooked with good ingredients. We'd happily stay again.

After a long day driving and walking, we found it disappointing that our room had no TV, no WiFi signal and no windows, which also made ventilation difficult. Had we known about those things beforehand, it would've been fine. The building and setting are lovely, and breakfast was very good. We were travelling the NC500 and felt the price was quite a bit higher than at the other places we stayed. It was comfortable, but some of those cheaper stays offered more, so the extra cost didn't feel worthwhile.

The food was a real highlight, with fresh local meat and produce, and they easily handled our simple requests. The owners were also great to talk to and knew loads about the area. There are excellent walks nearby, and the lodge has plenty of maps and guidebooks to borrow. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return. Definitely recommend it.

The owners made us feel at home, and their love for Scotland came through in their friendly advice on routes, attractions and safety. We stayed at the Old Mill from 29-31 May 2021. The house was arranged to meet UK Gov safety and COVID prevention guidance, but without restrictions that got in the way of enjoying our time. The beds were very comfortable, and the lounges were beautiful, with a huge collection of books about Scotland's traditions, flora and fauna, plus maps and more. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The haggis and black pudding were a treat, and there was a good continental selection too. The Scottish breakfast portions kept us going all day. This felt like a hidden gem in the heart of the Scotland Highlands. It looks even better in person, so I'll leave the details for others to discover. Go and stay there. Thanks so much for the hospitality.
