Best Western West Retford

We’ve stayed overnight here many times and also dropped in for a bite. The food has been very good on different visits to the Orangerie restaurant and with dinner room service, and the service is pleasant. Breakfast in the Orangerie is enjoyable too. Rooms are spacious, with a comfortable bed, seating, desk, wardrobe, ironing board and iron, tea and coffee facilities, and free wi-fi. It’s a nice family owned franchise of the Best Western brand. Just expect weddings and functions at weekends.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea today for my mother’s 80th birthday. The staff were a credit to you, with amazing service from beginning to end. The food was lovely, especially the merguine Swan, and the table was beautifully set in a lovely setting. Good quality and excellent value for money. Thank you!

The receptionist was friendly and informative while staying professional. We were there for a family occasion and didn’t try any food or drinks, so I can’t comment on those. The car park felt secure: you could enter, but needed a specific code to get out through the barrier. Our room, no 22 in the Georgian block, was spacious and well equipped, with an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. We needed a low floor room with a walk in shower, and the hotel met those requirements. There was slight black water mould around the shower tile bases, and one pack of biscuits between two people felt a bit mean. Two packs with a couple each would be better. Aside from those minor things, our one night stay was excellent and we’d happily book again.

We live just round the corner and are already looking forward to coming back. New Year’s Eve dinner was a fabulous evening, with loads of food and great entertainment. We ordered the drinks package and it was spot on, so there were no bar queues. Would happily recommend. Well done, don’t change a thing.
