Premier Inn Warrington North East

Pam served breakfast each morning and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The cooked to order breakfasts were gorgeous, and we had lovely meals every night. I was away for work for four nights, and had a beautiful room with an amazing bed. Thank you, Pam. Hope to see you again.

Renovation work meant there could be loud noise between about 08:30 and 16:30. Apart from that, the room was clean and the standard furnishings were good quality. Staff were very friendly at both reception and the adjoining pub. The Swan is where you go for food and drinks, including breakfast. Our evening meal was good, though about £80 felt a bit pricey. Breakfast wasn’t buffet style, as you order at the table, and I was a little disappointed at first. The food quality was better than at other Premier Inns I’ve tried: proper farmhouse bread, better sausages and good bacon. They only had filter coffee, without a machine for other kinds. The hotel was good value and about a five minute drive from Warrington centre, which has lots to do. Warrington looks like it has plenty of decent things to see, and Liverpool and Manchester are only a short drive away, under an hour. It was easy to find.

I’ve stayed here before and picked it again because it’s well placed for the motorway. The rooms are decent and clean, like Premier Inns generally, so I don’t worry about booking. Unfortunately there was no cooked breakfast this time because the chef had an accident. I hope they’re okay. It was a bit of a letdown, as I’d been looking forward to a proper cooked start to the day.

The construction noise went on throughout the stay, and the water was turned off from 6am until midday. They gave little real warning and no compensation. I’d paid extra for early check-in but was still left waiting. Once I got into the room, there was no bedding, and the place felt poorly maintained. There was visible mould on both the shower tap and toilet, which is unacceptable for a hotel, especially a major chain. A frustrating and uncomfortable stay. I wouldn’t recommend this Premier Inn and won’t return. I called customer service, and the man hung up on me.
