There’s a big gravel area all around the outside, with a BBQ and plenty of tables and chairs for eating outdoors. It’s wheelchair accessible throughout, and one bedroom has a wet room. Parking is set aside for two cars, with the chance to fit a third near the entrance. The caretaker lives on site. Inside, there are four spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms and a comfortable lounge with seats for eight. The kitchen also has seating for eight, but it felt cramped to move around in. The property is in a quiet little group of stone houses and bungalows, about a 15-minute drive from Amble, Northumberland. I really enjoyed my stay.

Tucked away in woodland, the complex is really lovely. We stayed in Daisy Cottage, one of several mew cottages, and ours was an Airbnb. The cottage was excellent, well worth staying here.
