We didn’t stay overnight, but came in for dinner and had a fantastic evening. I chose the house cheeseburger, my partner had the lasagna special, and we each enjoyed a few drinks. The venue was great all around, and the garden is a gorgeous hidden oasis in an already lovely landscape. We chatted with a few people staying at the hotel and heard only good things. Well recommended!

The Sun in Hexham has a warm, characterful feel, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. We had proper hearty country pub food, cooked with care: every dish was beautifully done, the portions were generous, and the prices were good. It’s a cosy place for a taste of English hospitality. We can’t wait to return.

Daniela & Medi made us feel at home and were so welcoming and hospitable. Our family of three shared a superb room with very comfortable beds, and both the room and bathroom were spotless. The food was excellent too, try Medi's pasta! There’s a lovely garden at the back for relaxing. Such a sweet spot to stay and eat on a trip to Hexham.

A great stop on our north and east-west tour, with clean rooms, friendly locals, good service and superb food. We watched a game in the garden called quotes, which I’d never seen or heard of before, being from London. Quality stay, and when we’re back on tour next year, we’ll stay again.
