The room itself was mostly clean, so I suspect the problems were down to the laundry. Still, there was a mark on the duvet that looked like dried blood or possibly foundation, and grey scuffs on the towels, including the extra towels from reception. There had only been one towel in the room. The shower had no body soap, so we used the hand soap dispenser, which thankfully was full. I didn't tell the staff, though I'm sure they would have put things right. It felt like a few careless oversights while the room was being prepared. The bath mat was smooth and really slippery when getting out. The reception staff said the place was old school because it uses physical keys instead of cards, and the decor felt old school too. It's a Travelodge, so I wasn't expecting much. The basics were there, and I can't really complain about that. Parking is shared with a Starbucks. I could always find at least one space, but it might be harder if the hotel were full or Starbucks got busy. If you don't drive, I'd say this isn't a good choice. There are a few things nearby by car, and the Trafford centre is about 45 minutes away. No lift, so accessibility is poor, but everyone was nice. It was decent and pretty cost efficient when I went.

We got a spacious, practical ground floor room for the overnight price we paid, with a bath and shower plus tea and coffee facilities. The staff were friendly, and a key fob gives you access around the clock once you've checked in. Free parking is onsite. Perfect for what we paid.

The sheets and bed were comfortable, and the shower was just about okay. The toilet flushed, just. The room was cold, and its heater seemed to decide for itself when to switch on and off. It also smelled of old socks, or feet. There's no bar, restaurant, or pub anywhere near, though Starbucks seems popular if coffee's your thing. For how daft cheap it is, the place was strangely okay. Uber to poynton was about £6-8.

We were comfortable during our stay and would happily come back. The staff were welcoming and really good with our two dogs. There was a lot of noise from the room above on the first night, with people screaming and jumping around. We didn't mention it to staff because it stopped the next night and we weren't too concerned. Our bigger worry was that the noise might set the dogs off, and we apologise for the few times they barked.

The staff on duty were polite and friendly, and knew the local area really well. We were there for a family function nearby and would definitely stay again. It's a budget hotel, but the room felt fresh and was clean. I had a lovely stay.
