Newfield Hall

A heads-up for anyone checking older websites: there's no longer a swimming pool here, as with some other HF hotels. The hotel is comfortable, with kind, helpful staff, good showers and plenty of parking. It's in beautiful surroundings on the Pennine Way, about 20 minutes by taxi from Skipton Station and 10 minutes by car from Malham Cove. The dining room seats everyone together, and dinner includes good choices with a vegetarian option each day. Breakfast has cooked options as well as cereal, fruit, toast and croissants. There's a bar with some local beers and gins, a comfortable sitting room, and a small library of local walks and maps, including walks starting right from the hotel.

The rooms were a high standard, the food was top quality and the service exceptional during my three nights at Newfield Hall. Yet again, it was an excellent holiday. The staff were efficient, polite and friendly, made me feel very welcome and did their best to meet my needs. Well done to everyone at Newfield, keep it up. I hope to return soon.

For my first HF holiday, I thought everything was great value for money. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner were generous, creative and tasty, and the whole place was run in a relaxed, friendly, professional way. The one thing that wasn't quite right was the bathroom cleaning. It was OK but not perfect, mainly on the floor, around the grouting and in awkward corners like behind the door. I hope this won't be my last HF holiday.

A lovely spot in the Yorkshire Dales, with good food choices and a pack-up available to take out on the hills.
