The Plough

The staff were nice and service was good, but the food was very low quality for the price. I didn't check the card machine price before paying, which was my mistake. There are much nicer pubs nearby with better food for the same money. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

What a lovely pub, with a warm, welcoming feel, friendly bar staff and chatty locals. Dogs are welcome, and the whole place was very clean, including the sparkling toilets. There's a roomy car park, and we liked the beer garden because it had shade for the dogs. Our drinks came at just the right temperature in spotless glasses, and the bar man was very hospitable. We were only stopping for a break from the drive, so didn't see the rooms and can't comment on them. We'll come back to try the food. A true gem, 10/10.

It's a cosy pub with new managers and plenty of choice at the bar. The view is lovely and the welcome is friendly. The pub and garden were dark, dusty and tatty, though, and I hope the new managers spruce them up.

The staff are amazing, and the pub has lovely beer, good food and a right laugh of an atmosphere. It's a beautiful, proper pub, the kind I'd choose any day over a Slug and Lettuce type bar.
