Potters International Hotel

The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were fairly spacious with great facilities and comfortable beds. Our group had some worries because of the other reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. It may not be the most modern place I’ve stayed, but the hotel was lovely.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel feels worn out and needs updating. There are only two plugs in the room, and the TV used one, so charging more than one device meant talking to your roommate or reading. The shower had one setting, basically riot mode, though at least I could adjust the temperature and get a warm blast. There are better places to stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was OK. The room was adequate and the gym was OK too, but hot water was hit and miss. The pool was so over-chlorinated my skin tingled, the sauna disappointed, and the steam room was a cleaners’ cupboard. I stayed there for three weeks two years ago, and it’s even more run down now. It feels like the owner hasn’t invested in this very tired hotel. It could be great if someone put time and money into it, but at half the price of Holiday Inn, you get what you pay for.

The decor has some charm, but the hotel is very outdated. My room smelled unpleasant, and so did the corridor. Nearly all the lights were broken, and the room wasn’t completely clean. £80 for one night without breakfast is overpriced.
