PRESTIGE PLAZA Hotel

The booking was easy enough, and the price suited us for a one-night base. The main reason I chose the place was its advert for parking outside. I asked how to book a space for our arrival, as the advert said, and was told they were all booked already. How does that work if you can only book on the day you arrive? I also kept getting emails asking for exact check-in and check-out times, despite check-in being advertised from 2-10pm and check-out from 7-10am. The room was extremely noisy, with uncomfortable mattresses, stained headboards and dead flies in the shower cubicle. They also required £40 just to get the room key. I understand a deposit for a key, but it could be lower, and that important detail should have been in the confirmation emails, not sent the morning I was on my way.

After a day out with the family, we found blood-stained sheets. The service was poor from start to finish, with staff who were ignorant and rude. There was no hot water, barely any toilet roll, and we had to ask for towels and soap. I went to reception to ask about the hot water, but nobody was there. We also called customer services using the number they gave us, but got no call back. We ended up without a shower until we got home. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I do not recommend it, and I’d appreciate some sort of compensation, please. Don’t waste your money. I wouldn’t give it even one star.

We stayed one night in room 16 with our three children, and there was plenty of space for all of us, plus two TVs. The room was lovely and clean, with lots of fresh towels, shower gel and soap. We could park behind the hotel for £10, and were able to check in early because the room was ready. A really good stay, I'd come back.

The room was cramped, including the bathroom, which was overpriced and didn't even have a sink plug. It was advertised as wheelchair accessible, but there were steps on the way up, and getting through the stiff door meant shoulder-barging it each time. There was hardly any storage beyond tiny drawers, no fridge despite it being advertised, and the bathroom door kept opening. We had to wait until 4 to get in and check out by 10. The roof dips, the rooms were terribly unclean, and the damp had me coughing severely every night. The owners looked down their noses at us. DON'T GO.
