Eastview Bed and Breakfast

We slept so well in a pretty, good-sized room, and breakfast was delicious. The hosts were helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. They even sorted us an evening meal when the pub was closed. A delightful place to stay, and perfect for the Pennine Way.

The cooked breakfast was good, and we really enjoyed the chocolate cake. Lana had prepared chicken casserole for us, with lots of the vegetables we love. We had a fabulous one-night stay while walking to JOG. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good shower, heated floor, and a handy drying rack. There's also a very comfortable guest lounge with a fireplace. Highly recommend.

The full English breakfast the owner cooked was marvellous, and she was such a friendly, helpful lady, though I'm sorry I've forgotten her name. We stopped here for one night to break up the long drive from N Aberdeenshire to Hampshire. The bedrooms were excellent, and room 3 had a tremendous rainfall shower. The mattress was firm, which suited us, and we slept well. Little details like milk in the fridge and ear plugs were thoughtfully done. It's a lovely old building, beautifully furnished and full of character, in a small village. A really excellent place to stay if you're in the area.

After a day cycling, arriving cold and wet at this cosy B&B was such a relief. They'd thought of everything, including complimentary dressing gowns, and having real coffee in the room was a big plus. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable, and the electric blanket and fabulous breakfast were much appreciated. If you're on the C2C cycle route, Eastview and Garrigill are worth the climb up the hill the next morning. Don't ride past.
