We were happy to move on, and the next bar had no problem serving us. I wouldn’t come back here. As the bar filled up around 6.30 on a Friday evening, the locals seemed unhappy that our group was taking up seats. One person in our party was told to leave for supposedly having had too much, though he was completely fine and not drunk. Staff also made an offensive, uncalled-for comment about our parenting because some of us were drinking, even though others hadn’t touched alcohol. It felt like they wanted us gone so local customers could have the seats. From the start, the place felt unwelcoming if you weren’t local to Alton, with people staring as though visitors weren’t allowed.

A great community pub for supper after a tiring day at Alton Towers. The kids had the pool table and darts board to keep them occupied, while we enjoyed the food. The Thursday night pies are delicious, and the staff are lovely and friendly. Next time we’ll try the Thai.

We chose this little place near Alton Towers because we didn’t fancy mass-produced food, and the good reviews seemed promising. They were right. The pub was busy, but service was quick, and there was a good selection of local craft ales. The Thai food was fabulous: I’d not had such a good red curry in ages, and everyone in the family was happy with their meal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re staying nearby.

Stopped in yesterday for a quick meal with my little one. The food came quickly, the staff were great, and there’s a good kids’ menu. Friendly pub, nice meal. They had plenty of good beers on tap too, though sadly I was driving. Thanks for a nice pit stop.

A lovely find and a real gem for the local community. The children’s play area is beautiful, and the pub serves great food. It’s very family friendly.
