The old pele tower in the middle of the hotel has a mysterious, interesting history, and I got to tour it during my stop. I was heading south from Scotland and spent the night at this old pub and hotel in the Borders. They have rooms, or you can stop in a motorhome for a tenner. The people running it were really friendly, the Guinness was decent, and I enjoyed the food. Hot showers, waste water disposal and breakfast are available, and they put on regular live music too. They accepted Scottish bank notes, so spend them before heading further south! A great atmospheric stopover. 🚐 👻 ⛪️ 🍻

The views are beautiful, and with no phone signal it's a brilliant place for a break. There's free WiFi in the main bar, though, so it's also good for parties. My mam and dad always go camping there, and I've been quite a few times. It's one of my favourite places in the world, honestly, and I love it. The food is unreal: breakfast is banging, there's a little continental selection too, and I can't recommend the pies enough. The staff are so lovely as well. One of the owners, Roz, crochets little things that you can buy at the front, and they're so cute. I'd definitely recommend buying one to support them.

The food was fantastic, and every member of staff made us feel so welcome. Such a lovely, friendly place in stunning countryside. Can't wait to come back.

The countryside around Clennell House is beautiful, with lovely walking and exploring nearby. I stayed two nights and had a truly wonderful time. Meals were hearty and delicious, comforting but still high quality. The staff were welcoming and exceptionally friendly, always glad to help, and the whole place felt warm and relaxed. A fantastic spot for a peaceful getaway, with great food, lovely people and breathtaking scenery.

We spent a lovely weekend camping on Clennel Hall's grounds in our camper van, so I can't rate the rooms. There was live music in the bar on both nights of our two-night stay, and we had a great time. The staff were absolutely great and really looked after us. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. It's beautiful and right in the middle of nowhere, just the place for peace and quiet, with a great night at the bar too. I can't recommend Clennell Hall enough. We'll definitely be back.
