We really enjoyed our stay at Brathay Lodge. Ambleside is beautiful, and the view of the Lake District hills and mountains was wonderful. We were right beside a park where the kids could play and do an Easter egg hunt. Our room was very clean, with lovely beds that were super comfortable. The bathroom was great, the shower had lots of space, and it was easy to open the windows for some fresh air. I really, really enjoyed it. The people running this B&B were kind and friendly, and the service was brilliant. Breakfast was amazing. Thanks, Brathay Lodge, for giving my family and me such a lovely place to stay in the beautiful Lake District. Milo, aged 9, London.

We booked at the last minute and were very happy with our choice. The rates are extremely reasonable for what you get, and there's a good-sized car park, with everything available as soon as you step outside. Breakfast at Brathay Lodge was excellent and a welcome change from the usual cooked English breakfast. There was a luxurious continental spread with salmon, meats and cheeses, lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, pancakes, waffles, croissants, pastries and muffins. There really was something for everyone. The recent refurbishments made the stay even better. Our room, bathroom and the public areas were all clean and pleasing to the eye. The staff were cheerful and helpful too.

The bathroom looked recently refurbished, and both it and the room were clean and really comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with loads of cereal, fresh fruit and berries. It was a very welcome change from the full English that most B&Bs offer. We'd definitely stay again!

We booked late for a Valentine's weekend away, so there was only a small room left. I took a chance, and it was amazing, with plenty of room for the two of us. The bed was so comfortable that we struggled to get up, and the bathroom and shower were faultless. Everything was impeccably clean, one of the cleanest B&Bs I've stayed in, and excellent value for money. Brathay Lodge is right in the heart of Ambleside, with brilliant, friendly staff. There's a large car park at the side, with a daily charge that was very reasonable. We couldn't have asked for more. This was our first stay in Ambleside, and we wouldn't hesitate to return. In fact, we'll make a point of booking again on our next trip to the Lakes. Thank you all at Brathay Lodge for making it so special. See you again soon.

Carol was absolutely amazing, and the rooms were spotless. Credit to the cleaning team. It's clear that Brathay Lodge cares about the service it gives its guests, and I was extremely impressed and loved our weekend there.
