Ees Wyke Studio

We’ve stayed at ess wyke twice now, and it’s an absolutely lovely place. This time we were there for two nights over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and had a fantastic time. The rooms are beautiful, the food is outstanding, and the views over the hills and local walks are lovely. I wish we could have stayed longer. Richard and his staff are fantastic. I’d recommend a visit to anyone. Thank you.....

Richard and the team are a credit to tourism in the UK. From arrival, they looked after us with the care and attention you’d expect from a five-star hotel. The standards and attention to detail at Ees Wyke are clear throughout, and it’s easy to charge an EV at a fair price. The setting is quiet and beautiful, with incredible lake views, a garden full of nature and Peter Rabbits ancestors everywhere!! Breakfasts were exceptional, dinner was delicious and faultless, and there was a great wine selection. Our traditional room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. With that view, we couldn’t have asked for more. It was the most peaceful Lake District stay we’ve had in many years and visits.

We booked the sunshine room for a three-night break with breakfast included, and were very pleased with it. It was spacious and bright, with lovely views across the lake. The room and on-suite were spotless and cleaned every day. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of choices for every palate. Evening meals are available too. The owner and team have made this a special place. It’s a beautiful country house in lovely countryside with spectacular views, and a great base for exploring. Good value for money, yes, and we’ll definitely be back.

The rooms are a little dated, but they’re spotless and have everything you need. There’s an old-world charm to the place, with warm, friendly staff and an excellent chef. We enjoyed the lovely lake views and wildlife, and the food was great. Little touches are everywhere, like freshly baked scones and tea when you arrive, plus a good choice of tea and coffee in the rooms. The service was fabulous.
