Walker Ground Manor

Breakfast was a highlight every day, and Sue and Richard were lovely, warm hosts. The room was spacious and lovely. The location works well for walking and for getting into town or travelling farther by car, though the drive up was a little scary.

The garden view room was beautiful, spacious, luxurious and very comfortable. You can tell no effort or expense was spared restoring this lovely old house. Walker Ground Manor is secluded and peaceful, with a lovely Lakeland garden, yet pretty Hawkshead village, its shops, cafes and pubs, is only a 5-10 minute walk away. There are plenty of great walks from the door or a short drive away. Sue and Richard are warm, welcoming and helpful hosts, and those breakfasts really are superb. It was a perfect holiday, and we’re already planning our next visit. Kate and Simon

After a long walk, the bath and the view were just bliss. The garden view room and setting were lovely, and Sue greeted us with a very warm smile. We were given a cafetiere of coffee and a slice of homemade cake. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice and high quality food. It’s ideally located in central Hawkshead for setting out on walks. There are chickens and alpacas on site too! Can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast had an incredible choice, and the food was superb. Sue was so helpful, and the eggs were super fresh, straight from her own hens. We stayed four nights at Walker Ground Manor and would highly recommend it. Our room was large, with a huge bed and a luxurious bathroom. A perfect base for exploring The Lakes.
