The dining room has loads of character and a great atmosphere, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and quick. The portions are huge, but the cooking didn’t live up to that. The pork belly was decent, though a bit salty. The chicken curry was poor, worse than a Wetherspoons, and the desserts were close to inedible. Chips were good, at least. A shame, because there’s a lot to like about the room. This is just a review of the restaurant.

The room had lovely views and was just right for us. After we checked in, Kooki the Collie greeted us and led us over to the bar. Both the bar and restaurant were cosy and warm with coal fires, and the food was top notch. We had a lovely time and will definitely stay again. Thanks to Kooki and Co.

A cosy, warm bar was just what we needed on a cold, damp day. The staff were really pleasant, and it’s a dog friendly pub. We had a great meal and would happily recommend it.

We didn’t stay overnight, so can’t comment on the rooms, but this is a lovely place for a meal with family or friends. The children really enjoyed the menu, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. The food was fabulous, with good portions and everything well prepared. We tried the falafel burger, the children’s pasta and burgers, and the onion rings were enormous. We’d definitely come back when we’re in the area.

I was travelling on my own and felt comfortable leaving my drink with the staff while I popped to the loo. They were friendly behind the bar, and the food was fabulous, with a good atmosphere too. Extra points for being dog friendly. I’ll be back!
