Louise and Shaun were friendly and lovely hosts, and knew the area well for walking. They were happy to help. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was cooked perfectly. Parking in the small drive area was a huge bonus, with the town centre just a two-minute walk away for evening meals and drinks. Tess the dog was welcoming too and loves attention. A perfect weekend stay, and hopefully we’ll be back next year.

After climbing Helvellyn, it was such a relief to return to clean, cosy, warm beds. My friend and I stayed in Room Five for three nights in mid-October while hiking in the Lakes after travelling from London. Sean showed us to a room that was just right, comfortable and warm, with an amazing shower and much better pressure than we expected. Lacet House made a great base for our hikes. We’d absolutely recommend it and are already looking forward to another stay.

We’ll certainly be back. Louise and Shaun were such welcoming hosts, and their local advice was great. We were in the area for a friend’s wedding nearby and found the weekend relaxing and enjoyable. The room was beautifully furnished and felt welcoming, and the tasty breakfast options were a perfect start to the day. Free parking was available at the rear or on the streets, and it’s only a short walk into Ambleside town or to Windermere Lake.

Free parking and the location were a bonus during our two nights at Lacet House. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and the room was very comfortable. We hope to return one day.

Louise and Sean were wonderful hosts, so friendly and welcoming, and Louise’s service was faultless. The location is right in the centre, making everything easy to get to. Our room was clean and lovely, with a comfortable bed and a great shower, and breakfast was delicious. My partner and I had a great weekend and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend, and thanks to you both for having us.
