The Rockery Suite

The family room with bunk beds worked really well, and our daughter loved the little Beatrix potter books in the room. Staff were friendly and attentive, and remembered her dietary requirements. The evening food was excellent, and the inn is dog-friendly. After cold walks, the hot shower with good pressure was much appreciated. The location is excellent, just two minutes from the ferry to bowness and handy for Grizedale, Hawkshead and Wray castle. We'd stay again. Thanks for a good holiday ❤️.

We felt so welcome here, and especially our dog. It's a genuinely dog-friendly hotel and a great family place. The restaurant was excellent; we ate there both nights, and the curry was especially delicious. They have vegan and vegetarian options, too. After noticing I'd ordered vegetarian the night before, the waitress offered me a vegetarian cooked breakfast, which was excellent. The next day I had what was probably the best porridge I've ever had in a hotel. The rooms were lovely, with great views, comfortable beds and stylish bathrooms. The location is great, right by Hill Top Beatrix Potters house and Hawkshead, with an easy trip to Windermere and Bowness on the short ferry.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. I didn't have UK phone service, and they even let me borrow their phone to sort out an issue. We ate six meals there, and every one was great. It's also very close to good hiking and the Beatrix Potter house. Had a lovely stay.

The hotel was immaculately clean, and the family room was great for our three-night stay from 30th dec -2nd jan. There was a massive 6ft bed and bunks for the girls. I went running every day to boweness on Windermere lake, with incredible views. It's a walkers' paradise and definitely a place for dog lovers. We don't have pets, but that didn't matter; all the animals were adorable and well-behaved. The food, service, rooms, staff, surroundings and location were all fabulous, just out this world. We'll definitely be back in the summer. Thank you all so much 💓 💖
