The Lastra Farm Hotel

Elaine was a warm, welcoming and attentive host when we stayed for a night after booking at almost the last minute. Our room was spacious and spotless, with lovely views across the fields. It was very quiet, just what we needed after a 7-hour journey. Since the restaurant was closed on Tuesday evenings, she suggested a lovely restaurant in the bay. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay and would highly recommend the place.

Breakfast was a real highlight, delicious and beautifully cooked with locally sourced ingredients. The service was friendly, professional and welcoming throughout, and we had a peaceful night’s sleep in the very quiet surroundings. The room was modern and spotless, with an excellent bathroom. We stayed one night and were thoroughly impressed. It’s a perfect base for exploring this side of the island, and I’d highly recommend it.

The host was very welcoming, and the location felt lovely and open. Breakfast was nicely cooked and presented. But our spotless room smelled strongly of dogs all night, along with the Neutrodol air freshener, and there was a welcome dog pack in it. The hotel details mentioned that pets were welcome, but I couldn’t find anything saying we’d be assigned a room used by dogs. Guests should be told when a room is pet-friendly. I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. That’s why I’ve given three stars.

If you’re arriving in an electric car, assume there’s no charger at the hotel. Ours didn’t work three years ago and still doesn’t work now, so it’s poor that they advertise it.
