It was hard to choose what to order because everything on the menu looked so good. The food arrived piping hot, and the salads were fresh. I came in without a booking for a birthday meal and wasn’t disappointed. There’s a lovely country pub feel, with friendly, welcoming staff. The food and service were wonderful.

Comfortable rooms, lovely staff, log fires, friendly people and good food. It’s a fabulous country pub, and I can’t fault it. Handy by car for Pickering (10m), Helmsley (15m) and, a bit farther out, Whitby (40m).

The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. There are some lovely outdoor seating spots, especially on a fine day, and a good choice of drinks. I tried a pale ale and really enjoyed it. We didn’t eat or stay overnight, though there is accommodation, and other visitors told me the food was very good.

We stayed four nights and had a lovely time. The staff were warm and welcoming, and it’s a great base for exploring the Yorkshire moors. We ate at the moors inn each evening and every meal was delicious. Breakfasts were amazing too. I’d happily recommend staying here. Thank you.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff gave us a lovely warm welcome. We’ll definitely come back, and might stay a night or two next time.
