The lift queue was ridiculously long, and it felt unfair seeing mums with prams, disabled people, and older passengers all waiting for that tiny lift, which barely fits three. The alternative is 121 stairs because the escalators appear to have been out of service since July 2021. I took the DLR here yesterday and found them still not working. This station is the gateway to Greenwich, a world-famous tourist destination and home to Greenwich University. People come from all over to see this historic area, then arrive at a station that feels practically unfit for purpose. I find that embarrassing, and the neglect of such an important transport link reflects badly on Greenwich and London. A staff member told me one escalator costs £680,000 to fix, so repairs are hard to prioritize. That felt like gaslighting. Surely access for everyone should be a priority. It's shocking that after more than three years the station still hasn't met basic accessibility standards.

Now a museum, Cutty Sark gives you a glimpse of 19th-century seafaring and some stunning views. It's a beautifully preserved historic clipper ship in Greenwich, London, and was once one of the fastest tea clippers. A must-visit for anyone who loves history.

When you arrive here, the front and rear train doors stay shut because the platform is too short. The escalators are the bigger problem: all four have hardly ever worked at the same time, and as of November 2024, they had all stopped working. It's a deep station, so taking the stairs is quite a climb. There is a lift, but it's small, dirty, and cramped with everyone trying to get in. Lately, people have also been sent round to an alley at the back to use another set of stairs. This is my local station and it just keeps getting worse. If you're visiting Greenwich, I'd suggest staying on to Greenwich station. It's only five minutes' extra walk into town, and worth it. This is one of the worst DLR stations on the network.

Amazing to see the whole tall ship. The restoration is impressive and beautiful.

This is a busy station with lots of people using it all the time. The platforms are short, so the first and last doors on the DLR trains don't open. During my visit, the escalator down to the platforms was being repaired, which meant taking the stairs or lift. That was annoying.
