Breakfast had loads of choice, and the pancakes with syrup were just right. Brenda made us feel very welcome in her lovely countryside home beside Loch Long in Arrochar. We had a family room that worked well for me, my wife and our 16-year-old, and it was a handy base for exploring. Brenda also suggested a good local pub for dinner. The garden is nicely laid out, with some striking trees and a lovely arrangement of cherry trees, plus birds everywhere. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

We still talk about this stay from our Scotland road trip in May 2025. We were travelling with family and our 15-month-old daughter, and got stuck late in the evening when the place we’d booked turned out to be a caravan. It was pouring, Easter meant nearby hotels were full, and we had nowhere to go. I called the guest house in a panic. The owner first apologized because there wasn’t a room free, then asked one of her guests if they could adjust so she could fit us in. She called back within 5-10 minutes to say she’d managed it, and we were so relieved. The drive over in that weather was frightening, and we arrived around 10 pm. Our host greeted us warmly and showed us a room that was much better than we expected, clean, spacious and comfortable. She offered us food from what was available and arranged an extra bed for the four of us. In the morning there was a beautiful lake view right in front of the property. Breakfast was fabulous, and the host, her husband and her friend were all so kind and friendly. Our daughter loved playing with their pet and spending time with them. It became a memory we’ll cherish. We really appreciated the help and would highly recommend the place to anyone visiting Scotland. ❤️❤️❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came expecting a peaceful stay, but it definitely wasn’t. The host is a very loud American woman, and if you have allergies, be aware that the dog and cat roam through the whole place. They painted our room while we were out, even though we’d asked them not to. And for the record, I’m not your cousin. You’re my mom’s adopted cousin, so we’re not family. You know the dog and cat run around everywhere. You never kept the cat locked up while Jayme and I were there, though we both have allergies. Putting her in the back doesn’t change that there was cat hair everywhere. She was in the dining room several times too. Maybe if you stopped talking long enough, you’d notice some things.

The afternoon tea was a lovely surprise, really personal and different, and now I’m in love with scones. Brenda was a fantastic host, and we had some great conversations with her. We stayed two nights while travelling in the Highlands, and the guest house is beautiful, clean and in a great spot with a fantastic view. Our room was cozy, the bed comfortable, breakfast tasty and freshly made, and parking was easy. We also enjoyed the cat and dog keeping us company. Thanks to the hosts for creating somewhere that makes you want to return, and good luck with the plans ahead.

Brenda was very accommodating and even offered us secure storage for our bikes. Our room at Fascadail Country Guest House was lovely, clean and comfortable, with a brilliant view. Breakfast was a generous buffet with cereals, breads, cheese, fruit, yogurt and drinks, plus pancakes or eggs and bacon if you wanted something hot.
