The good location is about the only plus. The room felt neglected, with no pictures on the walls, and there were no curtains, just blinds. Opening the window for fresh air made it rattle like mad. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and I had to ask for an extra blanket. Very disappointing. It’s sad given the location, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The place needs a total revamp.

I booked a room for August 2018, and payment was taken this month. I cancelled, but despite two phone calls and an email, I still haven’t received the refund and am having to chase it. There was no warning that the charge would be taken so far in advance, and I understood I could cancel at any point.

Goregen house is a nice place, with comfortable accommodation and a friendly welcome. It’s just a short stroll from the town’s main area.
