The restaurant's new menu was great value, with delicious food and plenty of choice, and breakfast was five stars for both the food and the staff. Everyone was lovely and helpful, from the warm welcome at check-in to the help we got around the hotel and restaurant. The room was clean and lovely too. My one issue is the double mattress in room 1. It's soft, lumpy and uncomfortable, and leaves my back sore, so it could use a firm replacement. Even so, this was my third year staying here and I'm going back in seven weeks after a lovely visit.

The night porter was a legend and made me a bacon bap when I had to leave before breakfast. They were also happy to store my bike. It's a really handy place to stay before catching the Arran ferry, with helpful staff and good food in a nice restaurant. I'd suggest replacing the mattress, though.

We had the Dine sublime menu this week after my daughter's graduation, and all six of us enjoyed our meals. The staff were lovely, especially our server, a young girl with long reddish hair in a ponytail. Sorry, I didn't get her name. They even made my granddaughter a hot chocolate after the machine had been switched off, when she asked. Thanks very much, we appreciated it.

The first worker I spoke to when I arrived was rude, and I left. The way she looked down at me stayed with me for the rest of the day and left me feeling awful. I don't usually rate places, but this is still on my mind and upsetting me. I won't be back :(
