Albion Hotel

There’s a lovely park nearby, and plenty of food places and restaurants around. It’s not right in the middle of everything, which I liked, but the centre is still a short distance away, about a 20-minute walk. The subway is just across the street. Street parking is expensive, though there’s safe, affordable parking five minutes away on foot. The place is neat, warm and has what you need. The bathroom is small, but the shower is a good size. Breakfast was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It felt safe and sound.

For a work trip, this little gem was very well priced and exceeded my expectations. Diane at reception was lovely and welcoming. My room was up two flights of stairs, with no lift, but that wasn’t a problem for me. The bed was comfortable, and the room felt warm and cosy. The bathroom was spotless, well fitted and had a lovely shower. I also had a TV, tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, a fan, and loads of wardrobe space and hangers. It’s a minute’s walk from Great Western Rd, with bars, restaurants, Tesco Express, shops and the subway close by. Honestly, I couldn’t fault it. Highly recommended!

The rates were very competitive for the area, and it was easy for me to get to my training. Staff were always friendly, and they’d bring me more milk or coffee when I asked. I had breakfast once, and it was lovely, though I didn’t need it on the other days. My first single room was clean and had everything I needed, but it was at the top of the house and only had a Velux window. I like having a regular window, so I asked to move. They accommodated me in a first-floor single room that suited my needs perfectly. I’d stay again. :)

The location was great for getting around, close to The Botanical Gardens, Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow University, and Ashton Lane. Diane was a warm, friendly host who made sure we were having a good stay. I’d highly recommend the hotel. Our room was simple and small, but extremely clean and well cared for. It had more than enough for what we needed, and we were very happy with it.
